SQLI assisted the Centres AntiPoison et de Toxico-Vigilance (CAP-TV) in modernising their IT system and unifying their operational system.
Objectives: improve data exchange between anti-poison centres
The French Decree of 2002 requires that every Centre Antipoison et de Toxico-Vigilance must use the same IT system called SICAP. Consequently, this tool has been progressively deployed in the different centres at a national level and has resulted in heterogeneous data. The aim of the IT system renewal is to provide more uniform and synchronised data between centres and to improve existing exchange engines.
Our assistance: study and installation fo an ETL with Data Manager
Following a study that showed the value of the Cognos Data Manager ETL, SQLI concentrated on the harmonisation, coherence and quality of the data exchanged between the CAP-TV. Using a Master Data Management approach, SQLI developed a single data reference with a single entry point. SQLI also managed the developments related to a centralised exchange engine that would allow local bases in the different CAP-TV to communicate with the national database.
Results: better information management between centres
Installing the ETL has greatly improved information management between the CAP-TV who have gained in reactivity as a consequence. The reliability of the tool and its developments are facilitated and it has been possible to develop new functionalities in order to cover every functional domain.
Gaetan Guyodo – CAP-TV IT system project manager
"The Cognos Data Manager ETL was chosen for budgetary reasons and because of the coherence between the software choices. Following the study conducted by SQLI, it appeared as if the decision-making tool, Data Manager, could provide the data synchronisation function between the different CAP-TV. The advantage of such a tool is significant because it industrialises and standardises the proprietary developments (SICAP tool). Here again, SQLI's expertise at both the study and diagnostic level and at the implementation level was greatly appreciated. We now have a documented operational system thanks to the combination of SQLI know-how and the functionalities of the Data Manager ETL."
